Skim Coating, Venetian Plaster & Microcement in the Peninsula & South Bay

Smooth walls and ceilings change how an interior feels. Light falls evenly, lines look cleaner, and even ordinary paint looks noticeably better. QualiBuild does wall and ceiling leveling, skim coating, and decorative finishes as part of our kitchen and bathroom remodels, and as standalone projects.

Before we start, we discuss the result you want, the condition of the existing surfaces, and the right level of finish. In many cases, photos, dimensions, and a short description are enough for a preliminary scope and price before any site visit.

What We Do

  • Skim coating textured walls to a smooth finish

  • Wall and ceiling leveling

  • Surface prep for paint

  • Venetian plaster

  • Microcement

  • Limewash and other decorative finishes

  • Accent walls

  • Finish-level wall and ceiling prep during kitchen and bathroom remodels

We pay special attention to surface preparation. It largely decides how the final finish will look in daylight and under artificial light.

FAQ

Can existing textured walls be made completely smooth?

Yes. That’s what skim coating does: the surface is built up flat in several thin coats, then sanded and prepped for primer and paint. Instead of the old texture, you get a clean, smooth surface.

What’s the difference between Venetian plaster and microcement?

They’re different materials, both visually and in purpose. Venetian plaster is first of all a decorative finish, with depth, movement, and a soft sheen. Microcement creates a modern seamless surface and works in bathrooms and other spaces when the base and sealing system match the application. We’ll help you decide which fits your interior and how the space is used.

Can microcement be used in a shower?

Yes, with the right base preparation, waterproofing, and sealing system. In showers, the system underneath matters as much as the decorative layer, so we define the right prep for your specific bathroom before starting.

How much does wall leveling or a decorative finish cost?

It depends on the area, the current condition of the surfaces, ceiling height, and the finish you choose. In most cases, photos, rough dimensions, and a short description are enough for a preliminary number. If an exact quote needs a site visit, we’ll set one up.
