ADU Construction in the Peninsula & South Bay
An ADU is a real living space on your lot: for parents, adult kids, guests, or rental income. QualiBuild is a family-owned construction company and licensed California general contractor based in Sunnyvale. We help take the project from early planning and permits through construction and final inspection.
An ADU is a more complex project than a kitchen or bathroom remodel. A lot depends on the specific lot, the city, existing utilities, the size of the future unit, and the concept you choose.
That’s why we start with a short preliminary conversation: what you want to build, the address, the approximate size, the existing house or garage, and your expectations on budget and timeline. The goal is to understand the basics and see whether it makes sense to move forward together, without spending your time on a site visit if the project, budget, or format clearly isn’t a match. If it looks like a fit, the next step is a site visit and a more detailed conversation.

FAQ
Where do I start?
Call or write and tell us the basics: the address, what you want to build, the approximate size, and your goals. Photos of the lot or garage, existing plans, or an early design help too. We discuss the main questions remotely first, and if the project is a fit, we set up a site visit.
Can you quote an ADU price right away?
We prefer to understand the specific project first. The price depends not only on square footage but on the lot, utility connections, existing conditions, structure, and the level of finishes. After the initial conversation and a site visit, we can define the scope and a realistic budget much more precisely.
How long does an ADU take?
It depends on the project and the jurisdiction. Design, permits, approvals, and construction each take their own time. We don’t promise timelines that depend on the city or other agencies. Once we’ve looked at your project, we’ll walk you through the stages and give you a realistic picture.
Who handles the permits and design?
We organize the process and coordinate the construction side. If an architect, engineer, or another specialist is needed, we work together with them, or build from plans you already have. Permit fees and other official charges are paid by the client at cost.
